Steam Generators and Controls
Finnleo Steam Generators lead the way...
Continuous steam, evenly dispersed, dependably delivered: that's why Finnleo
Steam Generators lead the way! With its beautiful stainless steel outer enclosure and black endcaps, the Finnleo FSX steam generators are as attractive as they are functional. Finnleo’s design assures very easy installation with controls simply plugging into the generator. And all Finnleo Steam Generators have stainless steel tanks with Incalloy 825 elements for high output and long life. Finnleo’s "Gentle Steam" function automatically reduces its power when the set temperature is achieved which provides for more continuous steam more evenly dispersed. The unit has an electronic low-water cut-out, a safety pressure release valve, an insulated steamhead and a drain. Insulated steamhead includes reservoir for mixing fragrance with steam. Top-side easy access cleaning port for adding tank descalent. One option worth mentioning is automatic flush. With autoflush on your Finnleo steam generator, the generator will automatically flush itself 20 minutes after every use. This option is highly recommended for all commercial installations and is a great feature to have for residential steam baths as well.
Finnleo always means quality materials and the fine workmanship of experience.

Steam Controls
Add either a low voltage on/off switch or the SX30 or SX60 digital control. Both steam controls mount inside the steam bath allowing the bather to turn the generator
on & off from inside. See below for more details.

SX-60
Mounts inside or outside the steam bath. Sleek, digital, obround design with
generator on/off, digital readout of temperature and time remaining, and
adjustable time and temperature. Low voltage, flush mount. For residential
use up to 60 minutes of programmable time or continuous mode option for
commercial use. Measures 3 3/16" x 4 7/8" x 1/4"D.

SX-30
Same as the SX-60 except non-digital. The SX-30 display window lights
up when the generator is on. Built in 30 minute timer, adjustable temperature
range from 100 to 125 degrees F. On-off switch operates the generator.

Low Voltage On/Off Switch
Mount inside or outside the steambath, this switch allows the bather to turn the
generator on and off from inside or outside the steambath. Has integral indicator light. Available in standard chrome, white and gold outer ring finish.

Insulated Steamheads with Fragrance Reservoir
Specifically designed with a reservoirfor a perfect
mixture of scent and steam. Finnleo steamheads have an insulated inner core for additional steam bath safety.
Proper
Sizing of Steam Generators
Steam generators should be properly sized for their respective rooms based
on several factors. When properly sized, the steam generator should reach
a comfortable temperature within 10 minutes, produce enough steam so the
average steambath temperature is about 115° to 125°, and have
a humidity factor of approximately 98%. A steam generator which is oversized
will form unusually hot areas around the steamhead and may have less steam
in room due to the higher heat. In the case of a steam generator, bigger
is not always better.
Factors which affect the sizing
of the steam generator include the following:
- Cubic footage of the steamroom (L X W X H). When calculating, do
not deduct for the bench area since it requires nearly the same surface
area.
- Ceiling height: Ideal ceiling heights are between 7' and 8'. Since
steam and heat rise, a larger generator may be necessary for taller
rooms.
- Building material physical properties such as
Thermal conductivity
Insulation (R factor)
Mass (weight)
Using the overall cubic foot total as a base and reviewing this list
of construction materials, increase by the following
percentages based upon the construction material chosen.
- Ambient room temperature: Sizing guidelines are based on an average
temperature of 68° to 72° F.
- Wall temperature: exterior walls in cold climates may require a
larger generator.
- Surface area: Steam generator sizing is based on an average rectangular
shaped room. The surface area per cubic foot for irregular shaped
rooms may alter the calculations.
When a calculated cubic foot capacity falls between two models, always
choose the higher-rated generator.
Typical Steam Generator
Installation
Steam generators can be located in a variety of places.
In choosing a location for your generator, always consider a location
that is easily serviceable. See our typical
installation illustration for ideas on your steam application.
